The combination of traditional glassmaking with science and technology encapsulates the cooperation between Preciosa and the Engineering Academy of the Czech Republic, which annually recognizes outstanding technical works and significant contributions to the development of engineering research in the Czech Republic.

The award is designed as a stylization of Ressel’s ship’s propeller, which is featured in the Engineering Academy’s logo. The shape slightly evokes the curve of a propeller and at the same time resembles the silhouette of a cup, i.e., a traditional trophy. The award is composed in an elegant shade of blue and is made entirely of Czech crystal.
